  1. Rubens Charles/JT Torres/Gordon Ryan/Yuri Simoes/Marcus Buchecha/Bia Mesquita/Gabi Garcia/Felipe Pena: Your 2017 ADCC champions, the most prestigious grappling tournament in the world that only happens every other year. Pena won the absolute without winning his division.

  2. Jorge Linares: Linares’s story is remarkable, that of a young, promising fighter, who had main event potential, took a couple losses, and rebounded to become a world champ. Call it a Robbie Lawler story. Anywho, he retained his lightweight title against a live gold-medalist who was hungry in Luke Campbell.

  3. Yunier Dorticos: Took aim with, maybe, the hardest puncher in the world, stood toe-to-toe, and light his ass up to advance in the World Boxing Super Series, and stake his claim as the best cruiserweight in the world.

  4. Oscar Valdez: On Friday’s Top Rank on ESPN main event, Valdez put on a fantastic performance in defending his WBO Featherweight championship against undefeated challenger Genesis Servania.

  5. Gilberto Ramirez: Handed undefeated Jesse Hart his first career loss on Top Rank on ESPN’s Friday card to retain his WBO Super Middleweight championship and his spot as one of the best in 168 in the world.

6. Joseph Parker: It wasn’t pretty, but Parker just got by Fury The Junior by a thin decision, retaining his WBO world title in front of a hostile crowd in Manchester.

7. Andre Galvao: Defended his ADCC Superfight crown with a shutout of Claudio Calasans, one of the best in the sport.

8. Patricky Freire: It wouldn’t be a Bendo fight without a split-decision! Avenged his brother’s injury TKO loss with a split-decision win over Benson Henderson in the main event of Bellator 183.

9. Jessica Andrade: In the first-time tussle of two of the best women’s strawweight fighters in the world, it was Andrade who earned a wide decision with a few 10-8s, and has now won four of five in the UFC with her lone loss to JJ in a title fight, and she’s sitting pretty for a rematch.

10. Ovince Saint Preux: Yes, handing Okami his first-ever submission loss is very impressive, and he’d be about five spots higher if it wasn’t short notice against an Okami fighting above his weight class. Still, a great showing.

11. Paul Daley: HEY NOW! Daley escaped Larkin’s smothering attack and landed a monster left to topple Lorenz and keep himself relevent as a welterweight kingpin at Bellator.

12. Andrea Lee: Put on an impressive display of violence against Jamie Thornton to defend her LFA Flyweight crown and remains one of the most entertaining fighters in the world, male or female.

13. James Nakashima: Remains undefeated and claimed the LFA welterweight title with a SD win over Derrick Krantz.

14. Scott Askham: Nice win for the recently-released UFC fighter, toppling Luke Barnatt in the main event of ACB’s latest foray into England.

15. Brandon Halsey: In the M-1 main event, Halsey picked up a UD win over Mikhail Ragozin.
