The DeAndre Hopkins-Deshaun Watson was in full effect on Saturday, in the Texans’ game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium.
Watson targeted Hopkins early and often on a number of short and intermediate passes, and the Texans receiver did what he often does — getting open and hauling in catches. The Jets defense played a mix of zone and man coverages, but it didn’t seem to matter all that much, as Hopkins found separation no matter what look they threw at him.
It wasn’t long before he beat them for a big play to bust the game open, either. The Texans were operating on the Jets’ 45-yard line midway through the second quarter at the time, faced with a second-and-nine situation. Watson used a nice run-fake to get the defense to cheat up a bit, and then threw a perfect pass to a wide-open Hopkins in the end zone for a 45-yard touchdown.

That touchdown catch and extra point that followed gave the Texans their first double-digit lead of the game, as they jumped out to a 13-3 lead.
