Tomorrow night’s mega UFC 205  card has lost another fight.  This one on the PPV portion of the card.

Kelvin Gastelum pulled out of his scheduled fight with Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone after he determined he wouldn’t make it down to the welterweight weight limit (he didn’t even bother weighing in).

No replacement opponent will be sought for Cerrone, so he is off the card (but will still be paid his show money).  The UFC promises to find him a fight on a future card ASAP.

This is the third time that Gastelum crashed and burned in the pursuit of cutting down to 170 pounds.  After failing a second time (at UFC 183 in January 2015) the UFC forced him to take his next fight at middleweight.  No word on what the punishment this time will be.

Meanwhile, further down the card, Thiago Alves’s maiden voyage to 155 pounds went severely awry, as he tipped the scales at 162.6 pounds.  He will be fined 20% of his purse, and his fight with Jim Miller will now be contested at a catchweight of 163 pounds,
