NLCS Game 7: Twitter Reacts To Corbin Carroll, Arizona Diamondbacks Upsetting Philadelphia Phillies, Advancing To World Series

With the Philadelphia Phillies experiencing their first Game 7 in their 140-year history Tuesday night, rookie Corbin Carroll helped the underdog Arizona Diamondbacks to scratch out a 4-2, NLCS victory at Citizens Bank Park.

The difference? The Diamondbacks took advantage of their chances and advanced to face the Texas Rangers in an improbable World Series.

The Phillies, meanwhile, muffed most of their opportunities and will endure a long off-season thinking of what they left on the MLB postseason table. The Diamondbacks, who won just 84 games, were outscored during the regular season.

Twitter users responded to the Diamondbacks scoring all four runs Tuesday on two singles, a fielder’s choice and a sacrifice fly, while the Phillies managed just one hit with their first eight runners in scoring position.

The Fall Classic will return to the desert for the first time in 22 years, but, for the Phillies, the offseason promises to be long and grueling.
