Red Sox Announce Opening Day Roster

It is finally that time of year again spring training is over the warm weather is coming and it is baseball season. Today the Red sox announced their opening day roster. There were no real surprises this year as everything went as expected.  As far as Christian Vazquez’s goes he was backdated to March 25th. That means he can return as early as April 9th.

David Price will be taking the mound tomorrow in Cleveland where the Red Sox will open up against the Indians. Earlier today said “I’m extremely excited” when asked about tomorrow’s game. The stress of being a Red Sox Ace pitcher has not affected Price as he also said “I’m as relaxed as I’ve ever been”.

The Red Sox opening day roster consist of twelve pitcher, two catchers, seven infielder, 1 designated hitter, and four outfielders.

The pitchers are Matt Barnes, Clay Buchholz, Joe Kelly, Craig Kimbrel, Tommy Layne, Rick Porcello, David Price, Noe Ramirez, Robbie Ross Jr., Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara, and Steven Wright

The catchers are Ryan Hanigan and Blake Swihart for now as we await the return of Christian Vazquez.

The infielders are Xander Bogaerts, Brock Holt, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez, Pablo Sandoval, and Travis Shaw.

Designated hitter is David Ortiz

The outfielders are Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr., Rusney Castillo, and Chris Young.

I am ready for baseball to be back can’t wait for the Red Sox to play tomorrow, you can cue the Tom Waner now “Let’s go Red Sox” first pitch is at 4:10 pm.
