Gronkowski to Appear on Madden 17 Cover

OregonTrackandField

It was officially announced at the 6 o’clock hour that New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will be on the cover of this year’s Madden 17. Leaks came in earlier in the day by Xbox when they referenced that he would be on the cover. But the official announcement came by ESPN on the 6 o’clock edition of sports center.

This was a weird one as in past years EA Sports did a cover vote to see who would take the cover of madden. But this year that idea was abolished and ESPN announced it. How Gronk got selected for the cover nobody knows.

Well I guess we kind of know why when you have a season of 9 catches for 1,176 yards and 11 touchdowns it’s hard not to be on the cover of Madden. Just seems a little fishy on how this process of selecting was played out.

Being on the cover of Madden sounds great and all but now we have to worry about the Madden Curse for a full year. The Madden Curse is a curse that is put on any player selected to be on the cover of madden. History has shown that it is a thing. As if Gronk has not had enough injures.

So is Gronk being on the cover of Madden a good thing or a bad thing?
