Booker Scores 70, Celtics Win

Wow. Devin Booker put on one of the most impressive offensive performances…of all time. Oh did I mention he isn’t even 21?

The Phoenix Suns lost yesterday to our Boston Celtics, but that is not the story everyone is talking about today. Devin Booker became the sixth player EVER to score more 70 points in a single game. He joins the company of Kobe Bryant, Wilt Chamberlain, and Elgin Baylor. Not too shabby. He shot over 50% from the field, and shot 24-26 from the free throw line. In the final few minutes, the Suns called timeouts and started to foul in order to rack up more points for the young guard.

The Celtics on the other hand seemed unimpressed. They led by double figures throughout most of the game. With the final score at 130-120, it was clear there wasn’t a lot of defense being played. Al Horford and Jae Crowder both finished with double-doubles with Isaiah Thomas once again handling the scoring duties.

With the Cavs and Wizards both winning last night, the standings in the East remain the same. With a big game against Cleveland coming up, the Celtics could move into first place if they keep winning. Until then, let’s hope no more Devin Booker sightings happen in Boston.
