Ohio State product Dwayne Haskins is on track to be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, and Thursday figures to be the biggest night of his life to date.
There are some questions about how he’ll fare at the NFL level, though, given that he’s a traditional pocket passer. Those quarterbacks thrived in the late-90s/early 2000s, but the past few years has seen the rise of dual-threat quarterbacks — who can use both their arm and their legs to create big plays — operating under center in innovative offensive schemes.
Still, Haskins has a strong arm, and can sit in the pocket and make all the throws. If he lands on a team that has a stout offensive line, he should fare well.
