New Orleans Saints WR Chris Olave Arrested For Reckless Driving

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave

23-year-old Chris Olave, a second-year wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints was arrested on Monday for reckless driving.

He was reportedly driving 70 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone when he was stopped.

Olave cooperated with authorities and was booked at Kenner City Jail in Louisiana.

He was expected to be released after processing.

Reckless driving in Louisiana reportedly garners a first-time offender up to a $200 fine and up to a 90-day prison sentence.

This is believed to be Olave’s first offense.

The last time Olave was on the field was in the Saints Week 7 game on Thursday night October 19.

He had seven catches out of 15 targets for 57 yards.

Olave has 471 yards through seven games with one touchdown.

The Saints are aware of the situation but have declined to comment.

New Orleans is 3-4 in 2023 in a topsy-turvy NFC South even though they have dealt with injuries to quarterback Derek Carr and running back Alvin Kamara’s suspension which has created inconsistency for the team’s offense.

In spite of all of this, the Saints are very much in the thick of things and need to get Olave more involved in the offense to succeed.

The Saints are in the midst of a two-game losing streak but are looking to right the ship in Week 8 with an October 29 game in Indianapolis against the 3-4 Colts.
